Champs & Banquet Tomorrow!
July 13th
Notes for Champs Tomorrow
- Owl Creek Lodge is located at 10607 Hobbs Station Rd, Louisville, KY 40223. Parking will be difficult so plan time to park and walk.
- Lineup, heatsheet, and relay lists are attached. Please also note the spreadsheet that shows if your swimmer is listed as an alternate for the relays.
- Any swimmers with illness/injury/emergency changes in the morning should contact coach Sophie: 502-544-4184.
- We still need four mandatory volunteer positions filled or we cannot swim. Three are clerk of course positions. This is only a half meet position and you are only there to assist so it is not stressful. You'll help swimmers get lined up for their event. The age group parents bring the swimmers there, ready to go. We also still need a second-half timer. You get to sit for this job and have a front-row view of the action! Don't let these amazing opportunities pass you by!!!!
- Age group parents, please arrive at 7am and check in at the volunteer table so that you can be ready to check-in swimmers. All swimmers should arrive at 7:15 and check in with their age group parent. Our warm-up will begin promptly at 7:30am. Officials meeting is at 7:15 and timers meeting will be at 7:45. Meet begins at 8:00.
- Below are some notes from our hosts:
- Concessions will be available for purchase. Concessions will have donuts and breakfast sandwiches in the morning and will be switching over to hot dogs and our “world famous” hamburgers around 10:30. Snacks, drinks and candy will be sold throughout the meet
- We will be enforcing the rule of no photography behind the start. We will also not allow any swimmers into the lodge to go to the bathroom. These bathrooms will be for officials and coaches only.
- Children will be allowed to start on the “red” upper part of deck or in the gutter.
- Portable Toilets will be placed around team area. You are welcome to use those or the ones in the gym area.
- No paint will be allowed on swimmers or in pool area.
- Spectators are allowed on both “long sides of the pool”. We ask to be courteous and not “set up” on the deck so that all families can watch their child when it is their event.
Notes for Banquet Tomorrow
- Our banquet committee has been working behind the scenes to plan an amazing celebration of our 2024 Dolphins! Thank you to Jennica Hafer for heading this up for our team.
- We'll begin at 6pm. Please be prepared to pay your balance upon arriving to the banquet. Exact cash or check are accepted. No change will be available.
- I know we are all devastated that our opportunities to volunteer for this team are coming to an end for the year. Thankfully, our banquet team has a few openings available. Positions still need to be filled for check-in, set-up, clean-up and serving. We are expecting over 200 and they cannot do it alone. You can sign-up via the website, just like our meets, so head on over before someone beats you to it!
- Reminder that for those who RSVP'd, we'll have Salsarita's for dinner thanks in part to their generous sponsorship. We'll be eating picnic style on the lawn so bring chairs/blankets etc. Coaches will give out awards, followed by music and swimming!
