Welcome to the Lake Forest Swim & Dive Team; Here is what you need to know now; New Family Parent Orientation Zoom on May 22
Attention Lake Forest Swim & Dive Parents:
Welcome to the 2021 Lake Forest Swim & Dive Team! Thank you for registering! I just wanted to reach out and tell all families about a few things you need to know as we get ready to start the season. If you have any questions, you can always email or call me.
We will be sending out information about how to sign up your kids for swim meets and how to sign up for volunteer jobs on our new and improved website in the next couple weeks. Remember to check the team website www.lakeforestswim.com for information. We will try to have everything posted there. But you must log in with user name and password to see everything.
Thanks, Laura Haara 235-4304. [email protected].
1) Night Practices Start May 18; Morning practices start June 1
We are going to have a few evening practices in May before the Lodge pool officially opens for those who are interested on Tuesday, May 18, Thursday May 20, Tuesday May 25 and Thursday May 27, weather permitting.
May Dive practices and demos will be May 18, 20, 25, and 27 from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm on those days. If you did not sign up for dive team, but are interested and want to see what it is about, please come to the dive demos, observe, talk to the dive coach and dive chair, and try it out! (We will let people sign up for dive team after the demos if they decide they want to do join the dive team after all!)
May Swim practices will be May 18, 20, 25, and 27 6:00 pm- 6:30 for ages 6 and under; 6:30 pm -7:15 pm for ages 7-10; and 7:15-8:15 for ages 11 and older. We just want everyone to meet the coaches, meet the other kids, and get back in the water as soon as we can! Again, these are voluntary practices because we realize some people are still in school, have final exams, still have other sports, etc.
Regular, morning swim practices start June 1. 8:15 am – 9:15 am for 7 – 10 year olds; 9:00-10:15 for ages 11 and older; 10:15-10:45 am for ages 6 and under. Morning practices are Monday – Saturday from June 1 – July 9. We do not take attendance, but we encourage you to come to as many as you can.
Regular, afternoon dive practice start June1. 10 and under age groups: 5:30 - 6:30 pm. 11 and over age groups: 6:30 - 8:00 pm.
2) New Swim Parent Orientation via Zoom on Saturday, May 22 at 9:00 am
Usually we gather all the new parents at our pre-season Dolphin Kick Off Pizza Dinner and explain to all the new parents how Lake Forest Swim Team works, how swim meets run, how to sign your swimmers up for meets, how to select your volunteer jobs, etc. This year we will do it by Zoom instead. ALL NEW SWIM FAMILIES please join the Zoom at the link below to hear all this important information so you will know what is going on this summer. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.

3)Time to get your 2021 Team Swim Suits!
We will have a new solid black suit for 2021-2022 seasons. You can buy it at Swimville on Shelbyville Road in Middletown, and they can add our LF logo onto the suit. While you are there, you can pick up practice suits, goggles, and anything else you need. If you shop at Swimville on May 18, they will give you 20% off anything you buy, other than team suits. See attached photo of the 2021 suits.
4) Time to Order Lake Forest Spiritwear
We have a large selection of shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, sweatpants, hats, tanks, shorts, towels etc. with our team name and logo for sale. These items are for the whole family so everyone can show their team spirit. To order please go to the team website (www.lakeforestswim.com), log in with your user name and password, go to the Team Store tab, and then click the link to see the merchandise and order! Each swimmer and diver will receive one 2021 team tshirt with registration. But parents love spiritwear to wear at meets. And kids may need some sweats to keep warm on meet nights. Order by May 17 to get delivery of items before the first meet!
5) Ask to join the Lake Forest Swim & Dive Facebook page
We have a closed page for the Lake Forest Swim & Dive Team. Please ask to join as another way to get information about the Team and share photos. I also use this site for “Lost and Found” items left behind at practices and meets! See attached photo of the FB site.
6) We Still Need Sponsors for the Team!
In order to make our budget and keep registration fees low, we need Team Sponsors! Don’t miss the chance to put your business logo in front of hundreds of people this summer! Lake Forest Swim and Dive Team offer $250 (Silver) and $500 (Gold) sponsorships that will place your logo on our team t-shirt and banner that remains posted at both pool locations in Lake Forest for the summer! Plus, Gold-level sponsors with kids on the team do NOT have to volunteer! Contact Tara Brinkmoeller for details – [email protected].
