Important Announcements

So much to celebrate this week! We have one last dual meet this week against Woods of St. Thomas!  It will be senior night and our theme will be rainbow, which age group can wear the brightest colors??  At half time, we will have a parent/coaches/seniors relay race.  We need four parents who want to show off their swimming skills, email me if you want in on the fun! ;)

Friday morning will be the fun practice for the week and we will have a pancake breakfast for all of our swimmers after each age group time.  We could still use some extra hands, so any parents who are available during practice times, please join us at the lower level of the lodge to help.

Due to the Thursday meet and holiday weekend, we will have the following adjustments to practice schedule:

Friday 6/30: Late/shorter practice times (usual Monday times)

7-10 years: 9:00 - 9:40 am

11-18 years: 9:45 - 10:30 am

6 and under: 10:30 - 11:00 am

Monday 7/3: No Practice

Tuesday 7/4: No Practice

We will resume regular morning practice schedule on July 5. Evening practices end Wednesday, June 28.

Qual Times Reminder: Attached are the qual times for our division. Thursday is the last chance! Remember, it is great to finish in the top 6 at a dual meet and earn a ribbon, but more important is for your swimmer to get a time in each event that beats the Division 2 Qualifying Time (“qual time”) for that event so that the swimmer can swim the event at the Qualifications Meet the last week of the season. The top 12 swimmers at the Qualifications Meet in each event move onto Championships for that event (plus 2 alternates). So getting a qual time during the season is the first step!

To see if your swimmer got a qual time, look at is your swimmer's time in each event from a meet during the season and compare it with the Division 2 Qual times for the age group and gender. In order to swim a particular event at the Qualifications Meet the week of Championships, a swimmer must beat the Division 2 Qual time for that event in a dual meet during the season. They only have to do it once to get to Quals. And when they get that Qual time, it is a win for that swimmer, even if they didn't place in the ribbons!

Also, even if your child does not qualify, for some age groups, we still may need your swimmer to fill relay teams at Champs!

Quals/Champs Jobs: Volunteer positions are now open for the post season events. Remember, these are in addition to your regular season requirement.  We are all just parent volunteers and it takes all of us to make the season happen.  Please find a position to help out the team and sign up early, we really appreciate it!
